What the alarms mean

An alarm appears on the Alarms page and in the bell at the top. It also colours the cell's tile in the zone. Most alarms explain themselves; these are the ones you will meet.

An alarm never blocks a cell

A cell with an alarm still works for people. The alarm is a message to you.

Left open too long

A cell's door was opened and not closed.

Seen as
Alarm Left open too long, with the cell and the person.
Likely cause
The person walked away without closing the door, or the door does not shut properly.
What to do
Close the door. The alarm clears by itself when the door closes. If it keeps coming back for one cell, report the cell in Support.

The alarm is raised after the door has been open for 25 minutes by default. IMBox can change this for your organisation.

Failed to open

The lock did not open when it was asked to.

Seen as
Alarm Failed to open, with the cell.
Likely cause
A lock that is jammed, or a cell that lost power or its connection.
What to do
Try the cell once more. If it still does not open, open a ticket in Support and name the cell. Only a person with permission can clear this alarm: press Resolve when it is fixed.

Policy violation

A cell the system had closed was found open.

Seen as
Alarm Policy violation, with the cell.
Likely cause
The door was forced or opened without the system's command.
What to do
Check the cell and close it. Press Resolve when you have checked. Only a person with permission can clear this alarm.

Low battery

A Bluetooth lock's battery is running low. Only cells with a Bluetooth lock can raise it.

Seen as
The cell's tile says Low battery.
Likely cause
The lock's batteries are nearly empty.
What to do
Change the lock's batteries. The alarm clears by itself when the lock reports a good battery again.

Lock not heard

The station has not heard from a Bluetooth lock.

Seen as
The cell's tile says Lock not heard.
Likely cause
The lock is out of range of the station, has no battery, or is switched off.
What to do
Check the lock's batteries and touch its keypad to wake it. If it stays silent, report it in Support. The alarm clears by itself when the lock is heard again.

Which ones clear themselves

AlarmClears by itself?
Left open too longYes, when the door closes.
Failed to openNo. A person resolves it.
Policy violationNo. A person resolves it.
Low batteryYes, when the battery is good again.
Lock not heardYes, when the lock is heard again.

Who is told

Everyone in your organisation whose role can see alarms gets a notification in the bell. If IMBox has switched email notifications on, they also get an email with the station, the cell and a link.
