Welcome
IMBox lets people open lockers with a card or a code, and lets you see what is happening at every locker station from one place: the admin console.
This help site has two parts:
- For the people who run the lockers (owners, administrators, operators): sign in, add users, watch the stations, deal with alarms, read the logs, manage your staff and ask IMBox for help.
- For the people who use a cell: how to open your cell at the station, and what to do when it does not open. You can find it under Using a cell.
What you see depends on your role
Your organisation's Owner decides what each person may do. If a page or a button in this guide is missing for you, your role does not include it. Read Roles and what they can do to see who can do what.
The words used everywhere
| Word | What it means |
|---|---|
| Organisation | Your company. Everything you see belongs to it. |
| Location | A place, for example "Head office". |
| Locker station | One set of lockers with its own computer, at a location. |
| Zone | A group of cells behind one screen or one card reader. |
| Cell | One locker door. |
| User | A person who opens cells with a card or an ID. They do not sign in to the console. |
| Staff | A person who signs in to the console to manage the lockers. |
| Role | A set of permissions given to staff, such as Owner, Admin, Operator or Viewer. |
| Alarm | The system telling you a cell needs attention. |
Users and staff are different people
- A user opens a cell. They are added in Users, and they use a card, a QR code or an ID at the station.
- A staff member signs in to this console with a username and password. They are added in Staff.
One person can be both, but they are two separate records.
Where to go next
- Signing in and finding your way around the console.
- Add a user to give someone a cell.
- Learn what the alarms mean.
